The Stork’s Apprentice provides caring birth support services to expectant families of all kinds throughout the Las Vegas & Henderson area.
A Doula:
- Educates parents-to-be about childbirth
- Provides support services prenatally in certain circumstances
- Assists mom and her partner in preparing for and carrying out plans for birth
- Stays with the woman throughout the labor
- Provides emotional support, physical comfort measures and an objective viewpoint, as well as helping the mom and her partner get the information they need to make informed decisions
- Facilitates communication between the laboring woman, her partner and her clinical care providers
- Allows the woman's partner to participate at his or her comfort level
- Follows up postpartum to check on the new family
